Bobby Duncan has taken to Instagram send a message to Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The England defender played a key role in the Reds’ 4-1 victory over Norwich City on Friday evening, laying on an assist and completing the full 90 minutes.

And Duncan, who has featured for the Reds during preseason, was quick to praise the performance.

Commenting on a post made to Alexander-Arnold’s personal Instagram account, he said: “Assist king”.

OPINION

Alexander-Arnold is already one of the finest full-backs in Europe, and you can’t help feeling that this could be the season that catapults him towards megastardom. The England defender is already a European champion, and on the basis of the performance he put in against Norwich on Friday, he looks hungry to add more medals to his collection as soon as possible. There have been times when Alexander-Arnold’s defensive game has been called into question, but nobody can doubt his work on the front foot. As well as laying on an assist in Friday’s match, he also managed two shots on goal and three key passes, as per Whoscored. If he can continue that kind of form throughout the rest of his campaign, then he will surely cement his place as one of the best in his position in the world.
