Liverpool have no concerns over the attitude of youngster Bobby Duncan amid speculation surrounding his future at the Merseyside club, according to FourFourTwo.

The football magazine claims that Duncan, 18, has attracted attention from Danish side Nordsjaelland and Serie A club Fiorentina ahead of the transfer window in Europe closing next week.

The Daily Mail has reported that Duncan is concerned by the lack of first-team opportunities at Anfield and has taken the decision to remove anything to do with Liverpool from his social media profiles in “a clear indication of his intention to sever ties with the club”.

However FourFourTwo’s update says that the Reds are not worried by Duncan and have been in constant talks with his representatives to keep them up to date on their plans for his future.

OPINION

Although Liverpool have no concerns about Duncan and seem unwilling to let the teenager go, it was odd that he was not included in the Under-23s squad that won against Southampton on Monday night. If the Reds didn’t want speculation to go into overdrive then just name him on the bench because Duncan’s omission has no doubt led to more reports about his future at the club. Sure he might be injured, but how many times do we see it when players are left out of squads when they are linked with a transfer? It happens a lot and it seems like Under-23s players are not immune to that happening to them. Liverpool need to come to a resolution with Duncan. If he is unhappy then you cannot blame but then again, he joined the Reds last year from Manchester City and knew that this was a risk he’d have to take. Unfortunately Liverpool are doing so well under Jurgen Klopp that he cannot risk giving youngsters as many chances as he might have previously hoped.
