Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to recall captain Jordan Henderson to the starting line up for his team’s trip to Napoli on Tuesday.

The 53-cap England international was surprisingly axed for Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Newcastle United, with his countryman Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain coming into the side in his place.

But with the former Arsenal man still making his recovery from long-term injury, we can expect the skipper to return to the eleven against the Serie A giants.

Meanwhile, Roberto Firmino will almost certainly start after Divock Origi picked up an injury against the Magpies. Those are likely to be the only two changes Klopp makes for the San Paolo clash.

With Alisson now expected to be out injured until after the next international break, former West Ham United shot-stopper Adrian will surely continue between the posts in this Champions League contest.

Just ahead of him, centre backs Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk can expect to resume their colossal partnership at the heart of the defence. On the right hand side, it would be a big surprise if regular incumbent Trent Alexander-Arnold didn’t start once again on Tuesday.

On the opposite flank, Andrew Robertson is the main man and will almost definitely start here. Meanwhile, Fabinho has nailed down a starting spot in defensive midfield and will likely continue here.

Alongside him in the middle of the park will probably be Georginio Wijnaldum and the aforementioned Henderson. This generally seems to be Klopp’s preferred midfield three.

Up top, Firmino will almost certainly come in after producing a sensational display off the bench on Saturday. Alongside him, it’ll likely be the usual suspects, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
