Jurgen Klopp could make three changes to Liverpool’s starting line-up ahead of their return to Premier League action when they play Leicester at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool won 4-3 against Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday night with a near full-strength side but Joel Matip missed out with an injury and was replaced by Joe Gomez.

However Matip might return from his brief spell on the sidelines this weekend against Leicester after Klopp confirmed, as quoted by the Express, that the Cameroon international could be fit and available for selection.

Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson could also find themselves rested for the match against Leicester.

Wijnaldum has started every Premier League match this season and played 64 minutes against Salzburg on Wednesday while Henderson is yet to make two starts in a row in the league due to Klopp rotating his line-up.

Naby Keita and James Milner, who both came off the bench against Salzburg, could be the duo to come in and replace Wijnaldum and club captain Henderson.

Alisson Becker is unlikely to return to full fitness until after the international break so this match against Leicester could be Adrian’s final Premier League start of the campaign as long as the Brazilian number one doesn’t suffer any more setbacks.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson are likely to be Klopp’s back-four with Matip coming in to replace Gomez if he is fit and available.

Fabinho could anchor the midfield with Milner and Keita ahead of him.

In the attack, it’s unlikely that Klopp will ring any chances with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all in fine goalscoring form if the result against Sheffield United last week is ignored.
