OPINION
Sky Sports in Germany have reported that Liverpool are in pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria and some fans on Twitter are thrilled with the news. Zakaria, 22, has been in good form for Gladbach so far this season, scoring two goals in 13 appearances across all competitions. Liverpool have plenty of central midfielders but Zakaria is very much a deeper-lying midfielder who may be on Jurgen Klopp’s radar as a potential back-up option for Fabinho. Liverpool should not be that desperate for defensive midfielders – especially when Zakaria could be valued at £43million. However the Switzerland international is a good young player who is in good form and would surely improve under the wing of a manager like Klopp. Liverpool fans seem excited by this transfer report and it is not hard to see why. But for now, it seems as though Klopp’s focus is purely on winning the Premier League title rather than his future transfer plans.

Talented and a very interesting player, but wouldn't get near the starting 11 for Liverpool now. https://t.co/vWrd30G8DZ
