The international break probably came at the wrong time for Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp’s side still unbeaten in the Premier League, and going strong in all competitions. With an incredibly busy December to come, the Reds will have been crossing their fingers for no setbacks, but exactly the opposite has happened. The FA confirmed on their website on Saturday that Jordan Henderson and Joe Gomez will both miss England’s game at Kosovo on Sunday. Gomez’ problem seems a lot more serious, with it being described as a knee injury picked up in training. That is a real blow to Liverpool, who already have Joel Matip sidelined, leaving them with only Dejan Lovren and Virgil van Dijk as senior options in the heart of defence. Many Liverpool fans took to Twitter to deliver their verdict on the news, with the majority seeming to be relieved that both Henderson and Gomez will be missing the Kosovo clash as it means they can return to Anfield as soon as possible and get back to work on their Premier League run.
