A number of Liverpool fans reacted humorously to a video posted by James Milner on his Twitter profile @JamesMilner in which he showcased his skills in his garden.

With the Premier League on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak and the UK on lockdown over the pandemic, the Reds midfielder has been practising at home and shared a video of a skills session which was sped up considerably before cutting to real-time at the end as he launches a volley towards the camera. Milner admitted in the tweet that he is missing the interaction with his team-mates but reiterated the message to stay at home during the lockdown to curb the further spread of COVID-19.

Milner, who has a reputation for sharp wit on social media (as per Liverpool Echo), generated humorous responses from some Reds fans who viewed his viral video. A few Kopites joked that the Benny Hill theme music would have been a perfect accompaniment while others quipped about the sped-up effects and alluded to his age – at 34, he is the oldest outfield player in Liverpool’s squad and the second oldest of all after goalkeeper Andy Lonergan (as per TransferMarkt).

Here’s a flavour of the responses from Liverpool fans on Twitter:
