Some Liverpool fans have been reacting as full-back Kostas Tsimikas was forced off against Spain on Thursday night.

The lesser-seen on Merseyside left-back played 80 minutes for Greece as they earned a 1-1 draw in the opening 2022 World Cup qualifier but had to come off 10 minutes before the final whistle.

Tsimikas has been plagued by injury and illness since singing from Olympiacos last summer, only playing 225 minutes across the campaign for the Reds.

The 24-year-old coped well against strong Spanish hosts, who were bolstered on 72 minutes when Thiago came on, earning a Sofascore rating of 7.2.

Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos suggested on Twitter that Tsimikas was simply too tired to continue, no surprise given his lack of match action this season.

That didn’t stop these Reds, perhaps scarred from injuries this term, reacting on social media
