Not fit for purpose

The FA SuarezOUR religion, football, is akin to air for us (hard to do without). We put up with being cheated by honest referees who really didn’t see it or who just make mistakes and say ‘it’s part of the game’.

Well, the game’s changed! No longer do players put their hands up to an error, the idea is to fool referees as much as possible – it is the age of the cad and the bounder!

The FA need to change too.

Players do all they can for an advantage and the concept of fair play, putting your hands up to an error is out dated. Retrospective action is a no brainer but those at the FA don’t have the brains to accept it as an obvious way forward.

All the cameras the FA need are there at stadiums. The game is awash with money so paying someone to watch all the games and make the decisions needed is easy but nothing happens. The action takes place after games so doesn’t slow them down. The FA however, still find it easy to make an example of a player who is a soft target, and not an England international.

When you step back from the hype and look with logical eyes: 10 games for a man who admitted to making an error in the heat of the moment is over the top when you see how other errors are punished – or not punished at all!

If they were a supermarket we could shop elsewhere but as it is, the only way to voice genuine concern is to stop as much money going to them as possible, cancel Sky Sports, stop going to England matches. We can still follow out teams via radio, websites and watch it at the pub. Let’s do something. An e-petition anyone?

To anyone who thinks my frustrations are over the top I have two words…

John Terry.

I know Joey Barton left our shores with a 12 game ban after repeated acts, each worthy of a red card. Yet I still believe Suarez is treated differently to English players.

The incident of biting without breaking skin; Career threatening? Life threatening? Getting spit on your arm is threatening and highly unpleasant. However, as there was no injury, no bleeding, no real harm to the other player, he should (in my opinion) have gotten the same sanction as spitting. His act was just as just as vile and dangerous while also having no place in the game.

Instead, it’s being treated like repeated punching or an elbowing to the face. No matter what anyone says they would rather be touched by teeth which don’t break the skin, than get their face smashed by an angry elbow.

The FA with they’re crazy ideas on fairness need to shape up. I for one will boycott all I can and do my best to stop any money getting into FA coffers until they sort out the game. If our club was run as badly we’d protest, so it’s time we started to protest! If our schools were run as badly we’d take our children out but in my opinion the monopoly of football is a cash rich money-making machine run by idiots.

Hoes does Cantona get labelled the misunderstood artist while Suarez is the evil animal? Man United bias? Both men have their flaws. Maybe in time Suarez will be seen in the same light. Maybe all we need is patience and the LFC shrink to work his magic like he did for World Champion Rocket Ronnie O’Sullivan. The extra time given to see Steve Peters may help.

I wanted him to appeal, right is right and 10 games is crazy. Appeal, even if that got him 15 games, it’s still the right thing to do because 10 games was too much. Better dead than smeg (Red Dwarf).

The first Liverpool player to do an arm biting celebration will become an instant legend but probably get a fine. I was almost surprised when the FA didn’t charge Borini for biting when he celebrated scoring with his trademark hand in mouth bite celebration!

One man’s loss is usually the gain of another As Suarez sits and chews over his errors at the beginning of next season, could Andy Carroll be back and stake a claim to revive his LFC career?

In my opinion Suarez being banished from the Kingdom will not see young Knight, Andy Carroll, return as the prodigal son. Brendan Rodgers made it clear when the round table was almost deserted that there still wasn’t space for him, so now with Borini, Sturridge and Coutinho there I doubt Andy will be welcomed back. That being said, he may be back all the same if no one else wants to pay the king’s ransom required.

An armchair fan who loves the stadium experience but likes the bread and butter of replays, moronic pundits, a drink in a pub atmosphere. LFC is my religion.

Common sense is missing from football but the situation is always complicated so I endeavour to give opinion and encourage discussion and thought about LFC.
