ACCORDING to The Daily Post, Liverpool’s third signing Iago Aspas has admitted he’s confident that his versatility across the front line will be very beneficial in his Liverpool career, and insists that Anfield was always his number one destination.
After several personal issues with his agents suspended Aspas’ deal with the club, they were resolved and Liverpool agreed a deal for the 25 year old to become the third summer arrival.
Aspas was the bright light on an ever darkening horizon for Celta Vigo last season; his 12 goals helping them stave off relegation from the La Liga and these performances earning him a credible reputation with other clubs.
With this interest, it was Liverpool who eventually had a £7.7 million deal agreed with Celta Vigo.
Aspas also revealed that moving to Liverpool was an easy choice, and that of all the options he had this summer, he opted for Liverpool because he did not want to move anywhere else:
“It wasn’t a tough decision at all. I’m really happy to have come to a big club like this one, having weighed up all my options for this window, a massive club like Liverpool was always my first choice.
“I’ve not had the chance to talk with the manager at any length just yet but I think that good players can slot into any role and not just one set position. I am a quick and skilful player. Together we will achieve a lot of success.”

Aspas: “It’s a no-brainer why I chose LFC. Celta Vigo is a club struggling to avoid relegation whereas Liverpool is a mid-table club. The decision is simply even for an idiot.”
