Disillusioned Suarez must avoid Arsenal side-step to go forward

LiverpoolTHE murmurs of a potential switch from Anfield to the Emirates for want away striker Luis Suarez were originally treated with disdain. The Uruguayan has made it clear that the belligerent treatment he has been given by the English press has left him feeling somewhat disconsolate.

These words provided most fans with the idea that, although unfortunately a move away from Liverpool was inevitable, a move abroad was definitive.

Nevertheless, recently, Arsenal’s interest in Suarez has ignited to the point of an official bid being lodged. £30 million, despite being significantly south of the club’s valuation, indicates that Arsene Wenger’s desire to get his hands on the exasperating yet talented Uruguayan is unequivocal.

The offer was rejected outright, however, sources close to the Gunners suggest that a second big is forthcoming; yet more substance to a determination to secure the signature of Liverpool’s star man. Suggestions have been made from reputable sports writers that Luis Suarez has spoken to his agent in order to determine the true profundity of Arsenal’s interest.

Although unconfirmed, if these reports are true, there may be foundations for a potential transfer that would trump any deals Liverpool have ever been involved in, in terms of pure shock value.

Putting to one side the more merciless Liverpool supporters, the majority of fans would not begrudge Luis Suarez a move to a top European club. The Uruguayan is, quite simply, outstanding and the Champions League would be strengthened with his involvement. That said, if you take into account the reasons he has continuously cited for his exit, a move to a fellow Premier League team would make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Once you have envisaged the outrage of Luis Suarez holding up an Arsenal shirt after he lambasted the English press, you have to wonder to yourself – is a move to Arsenal that much of an elevation from a community that worships his every move and has consistently exonerated him despite a history of indefensible actions?
[ad_pod id=”unruly-video” align=”center”]
I understand that Arsenal would provide Luis Suarez with the one thing he craves – Champions League football. Nonetheless, to concur with the thoughts of former Gunners captain Kolo Toure, do Arsenal offer substantially more opportunities for silverware than Liverpool?

Furthermore, do Arsene Wenger’s team, having failed to reach the quarter-finals for the past three seasons, pose a genuine threat in the competition to the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid? Just two of the teams Suarez would be capable of making an impact at across Europe.

If you need clarification about the ambitions of Arsenal – ask Robin Van Persie. Ask Cesc Fabregas. Even ask the likes of Alex Song, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Emmanuel Adebayor. All six of those players left the Emirates despite consistent Champions League qualification in order to enhance their opportunities of success.

Despite this piece being that of opinion, the facts are there for all to see. Arsenal Football Club hasn’t won a trophy in EIGHT years. To put that into perspective, the last time Arsene Wenger led his side to glory, Twitter was eight months away from its creation.

This is not intended as a comparison article. The concept of this piece is not to try and prove that Liverpool are better than Arsenal – its sole purpose is to contextualise the reasons why a move to the south of England would not bestow Luis Suarez with the opportunity to embellish his career.

The silence from club officials is deafening. The only person that seems to speak of the situation, objectionably, is Suarez himself. Right now, the cure for this scenario is for the Uruguayan to actively seek a transfer by requesting one. Skirting around the issue is assisting nobody and a conclusive attitude is what is required.

He may not feel as though he owes Liverpool Football Club anything, however, without doubt, Luis Suarez owes the fans respect. A move abroad would be mutually accepted by all as those that adore him and can still admire his talents, albeit from afar.

    Tomj
Not quite as empty as Gooners cupboard. And it’s nearer 46,000 with plans to be improved. Much rather stay at anfield than move away from heartland

Arsenal are a club going places. What arsenal have done in providing an awesome platform for major success going forward is staggering, surely the envy of many a rival who have spent fortunes and endangered there clubs financial security.we have the best manager, stadium, english players and with huge financial clout now we should really be a success for many of years.Arsenal are admired and respected the world over for the way they have been a self sustainable model never giving in to players demands and always remaining consistent and competative on the pitch.im very proud of the conduct and behaviour of the gunners and look forward to a very bright, successful future.outlook for your club deano in the future?.thanks.

How long have Arsenal, Spurs Liverpool, Everton, erm just pick any club, they all say the same things. The truth is the door is slammed shut for them all because of the sugar daddy clubs and then there is United to contend with too. There are 3 clubs in England and the rest are hanging on to their coat tails, Arsenal just don’t make the money United does and never will and as long as Roman and Shiekh stick around you are just dreaming about overtaking City and Chelsea too.

I just want the writer of this piece to think that Arsenal is a more suitable place for a world class player than Liverpool FC. We’ve gone through a lot of difficulties since we moved to our new stadium but we still held our heads high as survivers. Watch out for us this season as you’ll have more to write about.

Arsenal fans are delusional. Since 2005 LFC have one 3 more trophies, including the champions league. Someone remind me, when did Arsenal win it last?? Silence pervades – Exactly. If Suarez wants to go to such a successful club like Arsenal – lol!! Good luck, you were made for each other! Just stump up 45 – 50 mill and you can have him, only to be banned for life next season for eating wenger! Hee Hee! Remember Goners , yeah I said goners not gooners, you’ll never be as big as LFC with all its heritage. Ask Kolo Toure!

    • rich says:

Ok lets roll out the we’ve won the champions league and you’ve not won anything for eight years argument. Coz that’s quite a new one that not many people have heard. When was the last time u lot won the premiership? Exactly. Suarez wants to play in Europe at the top table and that’s something u can’t offer. To say it’s a step backwards in his career is mindless. I really did used to hold lfc in quite high regard, but over the last few years you’ve become a bit of laughing stock. There’s only so long that u can live on your past triumphs. Just ask us Gooners, we haven’t wona trophy in eight years (but you knew that already didn’t ya? )

      • Lionel messedup says:

Yeah dip stick I really knew that. With or without Suarez u ain’t going to win anything, accept it! Probably another 8 years before you see a trophy. And if you were such a great club you wouldn’t be losing all your best players year in year out. Bottom line, if Suarez were and that’s a goliath if?? Within one season he’ll realise he’ made a huge mistake, coming to a club with no tradition or great history. As I said ask Kolo Toure u idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Thierry Henry says:

LOOOL..I’m an arsenal fan (or a goner hahaha) but I gotta give u props my friend that s*** you were spitting out was hilarious..”banned for life next season for eating Wenger!”..Luv it man, classic..

  • elves jo says:

Yeah suares have right to endure 4next season

  • Liam says:

    2 sets of deluded idiots

BOTH SETS OF FANS = WAKE UP

BOTH CLUBS ARE RUBBISH NOW , AND NEITHER WILL WIN ANYTHING NEXT SEASON

Unless one of the clubs spends an absolute fortune then we will stay also rans
    that’s reality !!!!!!!

  • Red scorpion says:

Ok both clubs may be rubbish right now but if you look at the last 5 seasons I think Liverpool fc are more likely to win a trophy than arsanal .

  • mario says:

This is liverpool fans forum..fk off u gooners!

  • gunner4ever says:

lionel messed up,quite appropriate name?,lol.k.toure is finished long ago, thats why we got rid of him,got the best 7yrs out of him then sold him.when did you last win the premiership? never mind the cup competation that is the champions league,it really hurts i bet that yous never won the prem, that would be a sore one,oh dear.lol.also in reference to another post from someone else who says we dont make as much as utd, well that aint true as we lift more money from home games as we are the most expensive team to watch, well you only get what you pay for in life, the best always dearer.we also have just signed the biggest shirt deal in premiership history with puma which beats anyone by quite some distance.arsenal have a massive famous history or heritage as you put it,have you won the league at all your rivals grounds?,have you never been relegated?,do yous own a little gold trophy for winning the premiership as unbeaten english champions?.lfc are the club going nowhere just ask luis?,he will be jumping ship asap to an arsenal or a madrid.well done everton, the citys top club although yous have a wee chance of reversing fortunes this coming season as moyes is gone and fellaini well be a gunner.thankyou.

  • Red scorpion says:

Kolo toure left goners won premiership
    And fa cup

Cesc fabregas left gonersl won the Cl and Spanish league

Van Persie left goners and won the premiership

There’s a common theme if you want to be successful leave the goners they just like taking part

    • CHUKWUEMEKA says:

henry left nd won the champions league, ashley cole left nd i wont mention what he won

  • Red scorpion says:

How can u say kolo toure is finished when he won the premiership two seasons ago , goners got egg on their face lol

  • Gooner says:

Arsenal are still great finish top 4 every season, everyone thought we would fall, for me the worst shame would be if Tottenham finished above us in the league that’s more fital than winning the champions league

  • Gooner says:

Luis needs champions league football, but Liverpool fans know if he comes to arsenal it will be a lot harder for them to finish top 4 as spurs and Chelsea are stronger than them at the moment

  • Red scorpion says:

    These guys never learn

  • CHUKWUEMEKA says:

“your crap manager decided to get sahin nd play him as no. 10” hillarious but true. shows you wld still respect lfc if not for the manager.

  • Raam says:

Getting into CL every year but cant win it. Reds however won it more than any other team in England even when seldom (nowadays) getting in to the CL. This is what they call pedigree. Even SAF knows it. And this is the same reason teams across Europe miss LFC in the CL.

  • Zee says:

Why are all Liverpool fans deluded? Arsenal couldn’t afford to buy players so them 6 u all keep mentioning left, Adebayor never did anything after, kolo was finished, nasri is rubbish, fab I’d comin back, Rvp is good but nearly 30. song is benched. i think arsenal done well really if u analyse it and nog jus read the sun or listen to adrien durran the idiot. Lets go back to arsenal couldn’t afford players. Now we can, do u know y idiots? Becz stadium paid off. We r 100m better of each season nw and 100 yrs ahead of u. The past is the past, we as a club have evolved better then u in last 100 yrs overall to get to this point. U had a 20 yr cycle of success 25 yrs ago, get over it. While we were handicapped u couldn’t get near us, now we are a different animal. U lot r s joke. Surarez is comin to emirates, since our bid he says he wants to stay in uk. U lit still to dumb to understand? We are a bigger club then u. We are worth more, have bigger stadium, better commercial deals, pay our manager more, bigger wage budget, bigger season ticket waiting list, bigger turnover, bigger profit, finished above u god knows how many times in last 25 yrs. we have challenged in all decades, u only got 20yrs, truth is joke club who dalglish ruined in 90s and again last yr. u worship s guy who finished ur dominance 20yrs ago and u fans brought him back lolililillololol. Then for first time u craved money and he blow it on rubbish.

  • Zee says:

No player has left arsenal and played better or matched their arsenal form apart from Rvp. They might have won trophies but no1 ever played better or regained arsenal form again.

  • niko says:

Come here in Asia and you will know how liitle tiny is Arsenil compare
to liverpool…goners dream on.you wont have him.you are no better than us. YNWA
