Liverpool are not pursuing a deal for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, according to the Liverpool Echo.

A report in L’Equipe stated the Belgian international could be a target for the Reds, with the player’s contract at Old Trafford expiring in the summer.

The French publication said that Fellaini could be offered a three year deal to make the controversial move to Anfield.

However, James Pearce reports that there is “zero interest” from Liverpool in signing the 30 year old.

The Echo reporter usually has knowledge from sources inside the club so it seems likely that his story is more reliable than L’Equipe‘s.

Besides, Fellaini is hardly the type of midfielder manager Jurgen Klopp would be seeking to sign this summer, especially with Naby Keita already arriving from RB Leipzig in July.

The Guinean international is in scintillating form currently, having scored eight goals and contributed six assists in 33 appearances this season.
