COMMENTARY
To say that Liverpool’s clash against Tottenham was perhaps the Reds’ biggest game of the remainder of the Premier League season would not be an understatement and securing victory is all the fans at Anfield would want. However, it seems as though they are not best pleased with how Jurgen Klopp decided to go about picking up all three points with his starting XI, with what many have dubbed the “Brexit midfield.” As revealed on the club’s official Twitter account, Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum were the trio picked to try and get the better of the north Londoners, with that English pairing seemingly earning a reputation at Anfield. It does seem an awfully pragmatic trio, with the Dutchman the only one known for his creative abilities, it has not gone down as well as Klopp might have liked. Coming up against a side like Tottenham requires any manager to strike the right balance between defensive capabilities and cutting edge and it would certainly appear as though the German boss opted heavily for the latter on Sunday afternoon.
