Premier League legend Alan Shearer has included Liverpool trio Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah in his Team of the Week.
The former title winner revealed the news on his personal Instagram account, with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp also making the cut as Shearer’s manager of choice.
Salah scored the decisive second goal in his team’s 2-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday, cutting in from the left and smashing the ball past Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Van Dijk and Henderson also played their part in a well deserved victory for the title challengers, with the latter particularly impressing amid a rich vein of form.

This is richly deserved for the Liverpool trio and Klopp. All three players were instrumental in what was a crucial victory over Maurizio Sarri’s side. Salah stole the headlines, of course, thanks to his incredible goal, but all three played excellently at Anfield. Henderson has really come on in recent weeks and has taken his game to new heights. He is proving the doubters wrong and never was that more evident than on Sunday. He dragged his team forward relentlessly and was key to the Reds winning the midfield battle. The England international must be saluted for reaching his peak at the most important stage of the season. Van Dijk, as usual, was imperious at the centre of the Liverpool defence. The guy simply doesn’t put a foot wrong, and Chelsea’s anaemic attack was never going to give him many problems. If these three continues the way they have been playing then Liverpool are going to be extremely difficult to beat down the stretch this season.
