Reds given further encouragement in Eriksen chase

Ajax LiverpoolLIVERPOOL FC were given even further encouragement in the pursuit of Christian Eriksen today as it was revealed the classy playmaker rejected a move to Bayer Laverkusen.

Laverkusen, who are coached by Reds legend Sami Hyypia, are said to have lodged a £15.5 million offer for the Ajax star, but the offer was rebuffed, with Eriksen’s agent, Martin Schoots telling Voetbal International:

“Christian will only leave Ajax on sporting grounds, that’s his main criteria.”

Indeed, the midfielder recently indicated that he would be willing to remain with the Dutch side and sign a new contract if his sporting ambitions cannot be met.

These ambitions seem not to deem Champions League football as essential just yet, with both his current club and the German side qualifying for the tournament for this coming season, thus leaving Liverpool as a viable destination.

So believe Dutch paper De Telegraaf, who also reported that Eriksen wouldn’t instantly dismiss a switch to the Merseyside giants, like he did with Laverkusen.

The speculation surrounding Eriksen and Liverpool had already received further credence earlier this week when Frank de Boer stated he would not stand in the player’s way, should he choose to join the Reds.

“It is up to Christian what he wants,” said De Boer. “If he feels good going to Liverpool, then it is up to him.

“I would want nothing more than having him with us for a few more years.

“But we realise the interest in this kind of player is huge. And I can also understand that he wants to make another step in his career. I can’t stop him.”

Stop just speculating and give us stories confirmed by liverpool fc officials. Only publish articles when the player is going for medicals and ready to be signed

      • Megandren says:

Lucas will defnitely not play, e is too slow nd lazy, we need quick nd effective players in da middle, to start our attack, going foward and also defending, the 2 in the middle should b gerrard and eriksen if we get himn and the three behind the striker wid b phillipe, bernard and sterling, dats if we get bernard, nd our striker up front wid b sturridge/aspas if saurez leave, or if saurez stay sturridge nd aspas of the bench, or aspas in the 3 behind the striker, and sterling off the bench
