AC Milan have been working hard to keep full back Mattia De Sciglio all summer, according to Italian website Calcio Spagnolo.

Liverpool were linked consistently with the 23 year old in the last few months as Jurgen Klopp looked to strengthen the left back position but the Italian club are believed to be determined to keep the Italian international with both the new Chinese owners and prior owner Silvio Berlusconi keen to keep the club’s young talent.

Calcioo Spagnolo say the Reds did everything they could to push Milan into selling De Sciglio but they want to tie him to a new contract, alongside young goalkeeper star Gianluigi Donnarumma and Chelsea linked centre back Alessio Romagnoli.

It has also been revealed that the Rossoneri also had to resist Bayern Munich with Carlo Ancelotti keen on De Sciglio. Fellow Italian sides Juventus, Napoli and Roma were the other clubs that have also been scouting the full back this summer, according to the player’s agent.
