According to the Independent, Jurgen Klopp wants to sign Timo Werner from Red Bull Leipzig once the transfer window opens for business.
The Reds certainly good do with extra options up front at the moment with Roberto Firmino not an out-and-out striker, Daniel Sturridge a fitness worry more often than not and Divock Origi often inconsistent.
Certainly, then, Werner might be able to help out in that area with him enjoying a superb season in the Bundesliga for the unlikely Champions League spot contenders.
The Reds, then, need to get into the competition themselves, you feel, if they are to seriously offer Werner a deal whilst the player does appear to fit Klopp’s style.
He is a hard-working, talented forward with bags of potential and could prove a shrewd move – if it comes off that is.
