Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has to be considered a flop for his time at Anfield despite a few moments of brilliance and the writing is surely on the wall for him to leave in the summer.

The 30-year-old has been forced to the number two role behind Loris Karius this season and it seems unlikely he will be able to break that stranglehold.

The Sun previously reported that the Belgium international could leave at the end of the season amid interest from Borussia Dortmund and that now seems like a smart move for all parties.

Statistics website Spotrac claims that Mignolet has a £55,000-a-week contract with Liverpool and his current deal with them expires in 2021.

However, the Reds should look to cash in on the shot-stopper, who is let down by his handling and overall presence in goal.

It seems like Liverpool are preparing to sign a new goalkeeper ahead of the 2018/19 campaign and Burnley’s Tom Heaton is reportedly on their radar.

The Sun reports that Liverpool are prepared to battle West Ham for the £10million signature of the English goalkeeper.

It is understood the 32-year-old is ready to quit the Clarets after talks with manager Sean Dyche, despite the fact he is club captain at Turf Moor.

Heaton has grown frustrated after losing his spot to teammate Nick Pope after his injury and it would be a Jurgen Klopp masterclass if they snapped him up for £10million.

Heaton has the quality to be England’s number one in the coming years and the proven goalkeeper would be a quality understudy to Karius.

The complication could be in convincing the Burnley ace to for the number one spot, but the Merseyside club certainly have a major pulling power and it would be a great piece of business if they landed him.
