Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that goalkeeper Alisson will probably be ‘100 per cent’ fit for the team’s clash with Manchester United later this month.

The Brazil international has been out of action since the opening day of the season against Norwich City, but Klopp believes he will be back against the Red Devils.

“One is Ali’s opinion, the other is the medical department,” he said, as per Sky Sports. “They are a little bit cautious. We have to see. He looks really well but it was a serious injury and we don’t want to take any risks.

“He didn’t train so far with the team and we have to see for Leicester [on Saturday]. For the Manchester United game, probably 100 per cent, but we have to see.”

OPINION

This is tremendous news for Liverpool fans everywhere. Adrian has come in and done a terrific job between the sticks, but there’s no doubt that the Reds are a much stronger team when the former Roma star is manning the goal. However, it’s important that the club take his comeback slowly, which is what Klopp is doing here. He’s implying that Alisson feels that he is ready to return and play against Leicester City at the weekend, but that the team’s medical staff have a different view of the situation. With that said, it’s surely best to give him as long as he needs and to be safe rather than end up sorry. Adrian is doing a fine job, so there’s no need to rush the Brazilian back. He will probably be at 100% fitness once the next international break is over and the Man United game rolls around. So play him then, there’s no need to risk him against the Foxes. Adrian can continue to man the ship until the Red Devils clash, which is the perfect game to welcome Alisson back.
